I reckon we’ve dodged a bullet by not having to face our bogey team, the Canberra Raiders, in the first week of the finals.
Instead, we’ve drawn the Many Sea Eagles who seem set to field a Toyota Cup side this weekend, such is the extent of their injuries and suspensions.
As Dragons fans know, it’s never a good idea to get too far ahead of ourselves. Just take it one game at a time and all that.
But here’s a reminder of what happened when we last played them, about four weeks ago.
My favourite moment is Jamie Soward’s 40m run to the line. Man, I love it when the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers goes on a long run. Though Beau Scott’s 80m effort is a very, very close second.
And of course there's Jason Nightingale's magical effort in getting from the deadball line into the field of play while managing to dodge a stack of defenders.
I mention Jase partially because I know he doesn't often get the wraps he deserves here at Tryhard. My only defence to that is that Nightingale is so consistently good that you start associating a good performance as normal, so it goes unnoticed up against some of the more special efforts.
But Nightingale's been great for us this season - his security under the high ball is unbelievable - and he's never afraid to charge headlong into a pack of forwards when running the ball back.
And here’s how they celebrate a win in the sheds after the game.
Granted, this rendition came after the Dragons beat the Eels 30-blot back in May but it's a pretty safe bet a similar version was sung after their recent win over Manly as well.
