It's good to have a healthy sense of self-confidence but I think the Roosters' Mitchell Pearce may have taken things a bit too far this week.
I'm not talking about the incident at the Tank Nightclub on the weekend, where two Roosters were charged and Pearce interviewed by the coppers but let go.
Instead, I refer to his belief that the Roosters can knock over the Dragons this Friday night.

Full coverage of the St George Illawarra DragonsOn Monday he told a newspaper: "(The Dragons) are the best team in the comp at the moment. It's probably a good time to get them. They're going pretty well and they've got to lose one sooner or later."
Later he praised our defence, adding "if we defend like that we can stick with any team".
Okay, now let's just take a big dose of reality here. The Dragons are on top of the ladder, the Roosters are all the way down at the bottom.
Last weekend's win against the Sharks was the Roosters' first since May 2, snapping a six-game losing streak. In that same time frame, the Dragons won five games.
And that Roosters-Sharks match was 16th playing 13th on the ladder, and Easts struggled to get that win. And yet after this game, Pearce comes out and announces that he reckons the Roosters can take the Dragons.
Oh please. Beating one of the worst teams in the comp is hardly proof that you can knock off the competition leaders.
On top of that, you had trouble putting away the Sharks. If you struggle to beat Cronulla how on Earth can you think you're any chance against the Dragons?
Mitchell, your team has won one - just one - game in the last two months. Perhaps you let the excitement of an all-too-rare victory go to your head and you started talking out of turn when you should have just kept your mouth shut.
I'm sure your team-mates wish you had. No doubt someone at the Dragons has brought your comments to the attention of the players. And no doubt those players will use your comments as motivation to ensure you don't get within a bull's roar of the Dragons on Friday.
And hopefully that will put you in your place - which is last.
