Angry viewers have inundated the ABC's website with comments condemning The Chaser's Make a Realistic Wish skit.

although episode one of 2009 was very disappointing as it was so poorly produced and lame in its humour, i still stayed loyal to the brand, until now.
i have terminally ill 7yo son who also was a fan of the chaser, and also happened to be watching tonight's episode. our family are also an active members of the make a wish foundation because we know, first hand, what the the volunteers in that organisation do to assist people like my family.
i couldn't believe it when the 'make a realistic wish' skit came on the show tonight, and particularly the closing line of 'they're going to die anyway'.
i have been a fan until now but from here on in i will use all of the social influence i have (including blogs like this and any other worth contributing to) to bring down the chaser and everyone attached to it, which should be pretty easy becuae its so lame now anyway. i cant believe this has been allowed on the abc, of which my taxes pay for.
i will now have to go and accompany my wife who is presently consolling our son in his bedroom about his pending fate and agonising death which this show did nothing but exacerbate the issue.

Posted by tripod As a half decent person I can only apologise for their poor behaviour. It is a sad inditement on our society that this is entertainment and even sadder are the people that pay them to do it. I don't watch them too often but now intend to keep a close watch to be a witness to their eventual downfall. [Moderator: Edited: offensive content]
Posted by Robbo032 Sniper, I'm so sorry to hear of your plight. We through something close to it, but I can't fathom what you guys must be living with. The Chaser people had absolutely no right to degrade the good institutions that help families like yours and mine in that way. I'll be writing to Mark Scott today to express my outrage - and I've never written a letter to a TV station before in my life...
