One of the world's most distinctive voices came to Bowral last night to see how soul sounds outside the hustle and bustle of a big city.
R&B royalty Alicia Keys turned a chilly night at the Centennial Vineyards into something special for more than 7000 fans, cruising through hits Fallin', A Woman's Worth and No One over two al fresco hours.
The show was part of the A Day on the Green series of concerts and included performances by 2007 American Idol runner-up Jordin Sparks and hip-hop/funk act Lowrider.
A Day on the Green promoter Michael Newton said the shows continued to attract big names because of their unique settings.
"It's just a different atmosphere to playing an arena or a club or a theatre and it's out of the city as well," he said.
"Alicia's bass player has a band and did a surprise set to open the day. The crowd's in a really good mood and they're having fun."
