Austinmer cliff fall boy signs up with agent

06 Nov, 2009 12:07 PM
A six-year-old who took his grandmother's four-wheel drive for a ride that ended at the bottom of a cliff at Austinmer has signed with celebrity agent Harry M Miller.

Little Kyus Gamome has followed in the footsteps of Lindy Chamberlain, former Big Brother housemates, criminal underworld wife Judy Moran and horse trainer Gai Waterhouse by signing with the celebrity management company.

The Illawarra Mercury requested an interview with Kyus and his mum, Janna Gamome, on Wednesday and again yesterday, only to have a spokeswoman from the Harry M Miller Group return calls.

  • AUDIO SLIDESHOW: Boy's lucky escape

She said Kyus and Ms Gamome were unavailable to talk about his near miss on Tuesday.

The signing with Harry M Miller means they may be able to negotiate lucrative exclusive deals to talk about Kyus' adventure on television and in magazines.

About 9.30am on Tuesday, little Kyus snuck into his grandmother's Lexus 4WD, which was parked in Kennedy Rd.

The boy got behind the steering wheel and knocked the car into neutral.

The car rolled down Kennedy Rd, crossed Lawrence Hargrave Dr, and continued through Slade Park, through a fence and thick scrub, before flying over the edge of a 10m cliff.

Miraculously, Kyus was somehow ejected from the car before it crashed over the edge of the cliff. The shocked little boy was found with a cut on his arm, wondering what had happened.

The tale of Kyus' lucky escape was a hit, with news services around the world picking up the story.

Oh please! You're just lucky that no-one else was killed or injured by his "adventure". My sympathy for him and his family is no more!

If i were that little boys parents I would be glad the little fellow was ok not jumping on the band wagon making money out of it . Will the grand mother be explaining why the car was left unlocked for such a ting to happen?

A not to be missed opportunity From the money they make they will be able to repay grandma and shortfall in the insurance on the Lexus, repay the rescue services, and there shuld be enough left over for his education - and driving lessons.

Get 'em while they're young, Harry.

Take a reality check, you nearly lost your son and now all you are thinking about is money, just be grateful you still have him. Others aren't so lucky.

Most parents would just be elated that their child is alive....... profiting from this near tragedy is just wrong on so many levels....

Well, I guess they got over their 'shock' pretty quickly after seeing dollar signs.

Wish they don't make a cent out of this story. If they do, hope that Insurance Co will be able to recover their bit.

I would be consumed by guilt of what could have been. I guess they are more concerned about making a few bucks. I find it quite disturbing actually.
