Berkeley, Warrawong hit by flash flooding

10 Feb, 2012 06:24 PM
A severe thunderstorm warning has tonight been issued for the Illawarra by the Bureau of Meteorology.

Flash flooding has been reported in King St, Warrawong and at Nolan St, Berkeley.

The Berkeley Sports and Social Club has been cut off by rising flood water up to 1.5m deep.

Appin and Picton have also been hit by a massive storm cell and the State Emergency Service have performed a number of rescues in the area.

South Coast line trains have been suspended between Wollongong and Port Kembla due to the heavy rain.

A replacement bus service has been arranged.

For emergency help in flood and storms call the SES on 132 500.

It precipitated down for about an hour with the sun behind, looked very nice.

Now the yard is deep with water again just like last night...but looks like it's all gone now. I hope:)
