Cricketer Brett Lee - former star bowler of the Oak Flats Rats under-10 team - revealed a lighter side to Ashes rivalry while launching his autobiography yesterday.A few days after his son, Preston, was born in 2006, Lee found himself bowling against England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff at the Gabba in Brisbane. After playing and missing a ball, Flintoff approached Lee and thanked him."What for?" Lee replied.Flintoff said: "It's nice of you to name your first son after the place where I was born."But it's going to be bloody hard to call my next son Wollongong."Lee told the story at the launch of his book, My Life, an event hosted by his friend and mentor, broadcaster Alan Jones, at the Sydney Cricket Ground."It's not that difficult to be good at sport or writing if you are endowed with talent," Jones said."It's very difficult to be a good person, and Brett is that."Lee grew up in Mt Warrigal and attended the Illawarra Academy of Sport before moving to Sydney to play for Campbelltown, then Mosman. His parents, Bob and Helen, still live outside Albion Park, and Lee owns a farm in the Southern Highlands.Although neither parent has a cricketing background, they produced three sons - Shane, Grant and Brett - who played for their state, and two who also played for their country."... Mum and Dad thought it was important that some member of the family was always there watching and supporting us," Lee wrote.
