A man who sent his 10-year-old daughter a pornographic video via mobile phone had refused to accept responsibility for his actions, Wollongong Local Court has heard.
The 36-year-old Bulli man had the potential to reoffend and needed the intervention of parole officers, a parole report tendered to the court said.
The father, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim, pleaded guilty to sending an adult pornographic video to his daughter's mobile phone in January.
However, his lawyer said the man had intended to send a different video to the girl and he denied having a conversation with her about the material.
Magistrate Ian Guy said he was concerned the man had not shown remorse. He sentenced him to nine months' jail, suspended on condition he not reoffend. An existing good behaviour bond for a previous offence was revoked and he was given 125 hours' community service.
