As Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman sets up home at Sutton Forest, a fellow Australian screen star said goodbye to the region last week when Toni Collette sold her Broughton Vale property.
Knight Frank Residential agent Nick Broadhurst confirmed the property exchanged hands on Friday but remained tight-lipped on the purchaser or the exact sale price.
"It was in the vicinity of $1.6 million, which was the asking price," Mr Broadhurst said.
Described as "a sophisticated eco-friendly retreat", the property is located on 10ha of rainforest 6km north of Berry.
The five-bedroom house was half-finished when bought by Collette for $890,000 in late 2002. She completed the home using recycled materials and built a detached music studio.
In 2003 the Muriel's Wedding star was the talk of Berry when she married musician Dave Galafassi at a Buddhist-themed ceremony on the property.
The couple's first child, daughter Sage Florence, was born in January this year.
Collette's busy schedule was cited as one reason for the sale.
Collette has been in Los Angeles filming television series The United States of Tara, a dark comedy developed by Steven Spielberg and Academy Award-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody.
