Cooler weather is expected to see the bushfire emergency declaration in the Shoalhaven lifted today. Twenty firefighters yesterday continued mopping up operations in the Murramurang National Park and in the vicinity of the Termeil and Romney Park fires, which had threatened properties at Dolphin Point and Lake Tabourie.Tim Carroll, from Shoalhaven Fire Control, said it was "pretty quiet" elsewhere, although the dry conditions in the south of the Shoalhaven meant firefighters were keeping a watchful eye on areas that were still smouldering. Some of these areas were the subject of hazard reduction burns that took place almost a month ago, Mr Carroll said.He said the section 44 bushfire emergency declaration would probably be lifted today.Meanwhile, NSW Fire Brigades firefighters from Thirroul, Scarborough, Bulli, Shellharbour and Balgownie stations took advantage of the cooler weather on Saturday to conduct a hazard reduction burn at Bulli in the Highland Pde and Hospital Rd area.
