Keira MP David Campbell has spoken to the media outside his home saying he will talk through
the scandal with his family before deciding if he would stand for re-election.
The former transport minister resigned last night after revelations he was seen leaving a gay sex club in Kensington.
VIDEO: David Campbell says he's sorry"I have made some personal choices which have put me and my family in a situation, I have apologised to them for it," he said.
"I apologise to the community and I accept responsibility for the situation that I have put my family and myself in.
"I want to make it very clear that never, never over the period of my public life have those personal choices impacted in any way, shape or form on the decisions I’ve had to make in public life."
Mr Campbell thanked all those who had sent messages of support to himself and his family.
He said it had been a very humiliating time and pleaded with the media to give his family the privacy they needed to work through this.
When asked if he had ever thought his secret may be exposed, Mr Campbell said: "Look, these are some choices I’ve made, they have caused a great deal of embarrassment and it’s not for me to go into the detail of those private issues here, they’re for me to work through with my family."
