The Glasshouse Tavern in Wollongong has been identified as the second most violent club in the state, according to a new crime report.
The Crown St venue recorded 36 assaults between July last year and June, ranking it second on a list of the state's top 100 violent clubs compiled by the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research.
Eight other Illawarra drinking venues also featured in the top 100 list, including the Towradgi Beach Hotel with 20 recorded assaults, and the Harp with 19 assaults.
Castros is also on the violent list with 17 recorded assaults, as are The North Wollongong Hotel with 14 assaults in 12 months, and The Illawarra Hotel and The Ivory with 13 assaults each.
The figures show Dapto Leagues Club recorded 11 assaults, as did Shellharbour Workers Club.
A spokesman for Nathan Rees said the Premier would enforce new restrictions introduced in July on any pubs or clubs in the latest list that had more than 19 assaults in the past year.
Under the new liquor laws, clubs or pubs with more than 19 assaults will also be forced to stop serving alcohol for 10 minutes once an hour after midnight or provide free water and food for 10 minutes every hour after midnight.
They will also be required to have extra security measures, will be banned from serving shots, doubles, mixed drinks that have more than five per cent alcohol and will have to limit customers to four alcoholic drinks per order.
Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione said the number of assaults in licensed venues - including glass attacks - had been reduced dramatically since the introduction of tougher liquor laws and the listing of the state's 48 most violent venues.
