Wollongong has secured a spot alongside Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane on the touring schedule of sentimental pop rock favourites Crowded House.
The band will arrive at WIN Entertainment Centre on November 16, the final date in a national tour taking in five Australian states and six venues.
The certain to be sold out, two-hour show will mine the fertile songwriting of hit albums Crowded House, Woodface and Together Alone, plus material from new album, Intriguer.
WIN Entertainment Centre marketing manager Marc Swan welcomed the announcement, the latest in a year of big-name signings for the venue.
"It means a great deal to the WIN Entertainment Centre and to the City of Wollongong to get a fantastic gig like Crowded House," he said.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on August 10, with internet pre-sales from August 6.
The band re-formed in 2007 after an 11-year hiatus, and following the death of drummer Paul Hester in 2005. Last month's Intriguer is the band's sixth album. The line-up includes founding members Neil Finn and Nick Seymour, plus drummer Matt Sherrod and US-based musician and singer Mark Hart.
