Hydroponic set-up found during Albion Park fire call-out

03 Jul, 2009 05:00 AM
Firefighters called to a garage blaze in Albion Park on Wednesday night discovered a hydroponic cannabis set-up, police said yesterday.

Firefighters were called to an address in O'Gorman St about 8.30pm and after extinguishing the blaze found the drug set-up.

Police established a mobile command post at the house and found four mature cannabis plants with a street value of about $8000. They also found heating lamps, transformers and electrical equipment associated with the hydroponics.

A 31-year-old woman was arrested yesterday and later charged with cultivating a prohibited plant.

She will appear in Albion Park Local Court on August 5.
