Murder charge laid over bush grave body

A man has been charged with the murder of Scott Bryan, whose body was found buried in a shallow grave in bushland on the South Coast earlier this year.

Strike Force Nellore detectives revealed today Mr Bryan, 34, died from a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

Police discovered his remains buried in a shallow grave in the Currowan State Forest, near Batemans Bay, after a tip-off from the public in June.

He was was last seen alive about 1.30pm on November 21, 2008 as he was dropped off at his home in Short St, Batemans Bay.

He was not reported missing until December 5, 2008.

About 12.30am today, a 33-year-old Nelligen man was charged with Mr Bryan's murder.

Police said he appeared before Goulburn Local Court today and will be remanded in custody to appear at Batemans Bay Local Court on December 21.
