Fans will get the first taste of a revamped WIN Stadium tonight thanks to an upgrade of the ground's southern grandstand.
The grandstand's $1.6 million facelift features 21 new and refurbished corporate suites, each retaining stunning views over the ground, the ocean to the east and north to Flagstaff Hill.
The suites also feature an outdoor area to allow fans to make the most of the game-day atmosphere.
Getting your hands on a bit of half-time tucker should be easier with the new food outlet beneath the grandstand.
WIN Sports and Entertainment Centres general manager Stuart Barnes said the new corporate suites had proved popular before the first punters of the season had walked through the gates, with 19 of the 21 sold.
The smell of fresh paint was still in the air yesterday as workmen scrambled to put the finishing touches on the job, but Mr Barnes assured fans the grandstand would be ready for use in time for tonight's clash between the Dragons and Bulldogs.
"This is the first half of what we see as the new face of WIN Stadium," he said.
The improved facilities will also provide a jobs boost, with food services and hospitality company Delaware North to put on extra staff to service the grandstand.
Funding for the WIN Stadium upgrades was provided by Delaware North and is separate from the $28.9 million western grandstand redevelopment, due to kick off in June.
Further upgrades to the southern grandstand - including new player facilities and change rooms - are due to begin in May.
