Newsagent threatened with machete in robbery

A Shoalhaven newsagency worker was robbed at knifepoint yesterday afternoon.

A man entered the shop on Shoalhaven Heads Rd, Shoalhaven Heads about 2.05pm armed with a machete.

He threatened the employee and demanded he hand over cash.

The man managed to escape on foot with a sum of cash.

Police conducted patrols with the dog squad and it was believed the man may have escaped in a vehicle.

He was described as Caucasian, aged in his early 20s, 180cm tall, with a thin build wearing silver track pants and a light blue t-shirt with a grey or brown hood on his head.

He was also wearing a blue bandanna over his face when he entered the newsagency.
