Nowra hotel glass attack: man questioned

A man is being questioned by police over an allegedly unprovoked glassing at a Nowra hotel last night.

The man become involved in a dispute with a barman at the Bridge St hotel at 10.30pm after being refused service because he was intoxicated.

Police believe he then argued with a patron, a 26-year-old Nowra man, before shoving a beer glass into his face, causing serious lacerations.

Police from Shoalhaven Local Area Command responded and arrested the suspect at the scene.

He was taken to Nowra Police Station where he is assisting investigating officers with their inquiries.

The injured man was taken by NSW Ambulance paramedics to Shoalhaven District Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone who witnessed the incident and hasn't already spoken with police is urged to contact Nowra Detectives via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
