A postman's nose was broken when he tried to stop a man attacking two women on a Port Kembla street, Wollongong Bail Court heard yesterday.
Corey Joseph Zughero, 26, of Allan St, Port Kembla was allegedly assaulting the women about 12.40pm on Wednesday when the postman intervened.
"The post officer did nothing but to ask the accused to stop assaulting the two female victims," police prosecutor Aaron Wunderlich told the court.
"(He) suffered quite severe injuries."
Zughero has not entered pleas to six charges including assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was refused bail.
