Road closures and train cancellations

The following road closures are in place due to flooding and road damage this morning:

  • Port Kembla - Five Islands Rd between Emily Rd and Flinders Rd has one westbound lane open. The rest of the road is flooded.
  • Jamberoo - Jamberoo Mountain Rd is closed in both directions. Fountaindale Rd is closed below Saddleback Lookout.
  • Audley (Royal National Park) - Audley Rd at Audley Weir is closed. This will be reassessed at 10am.
  • Albion Park Rail - Illawarra Hwy between Princes Hwy and Tongarra Rd is closed in both directions and so is Croome Rd.
  • Kiama Bends - Princes Hwy between Kiama and Gerringong has only one northbound lane open due to a rock fall. All southbound lanes are open.
  • Oak Flats - The road surface on Industrial Rd is damaged.
  • Geringong - A bridge has been washed out on Rose Valley Rd just before the Girl Guide Camp.
  • Bega - Princes Hway near Kisses Lagoon is closed in both directions.
  • Foxground - Foxground Rd has water across it but traffic is getting through.
  • Trains are suspended on the South Coast line between Unanderra and Bomaderry (Nowra) in both directions.Transport NSW said to expect moderate delays.Buses are running between Port Kembla North and Port Kembla and between Unanderra and Bomaderry (Nowra) in both directions.Engineers and repair crews are assessing damage to the rail line. At this stage there is no forecast as to when train services can be restored.
