From different worlds, but united in their grief, more than 100 mourners gathered yesterday to remember a man who had lived life to its fullest.Skydivers, university students and members of the region's Israeli-Australian community farewelled 33-year-old Ariel Sicsic yesterday in an emotional memorial service at Stuart Park in Wollongong.Mr Sicsic, an experienced skydiver, was making a solo jump on April 15 when he landed heavily at Kemps Reserve, Towradgi, suffering injuries that led to his death later that night. He was buried in a traditional Jewish service in Israel on Monday.Among mourners at yesterday's service was Mr Sicsic's beloved ginger and white cat, huddled in a blanket held by Dominic Tier.Mr Sicsic was entrusted by a close friend, now on student exchange, to care for Murphy the cat, a duty he relished."We thought it fitting that he could say goodbye," Mr Tier said."It's not only for humans and he was Murphy's dad."Mr Sicsic's close friend Troy made an emotional tribute to the man he described as irreplaceable. "I've had good mates before but he was different," he said."We looked after each other, he was my main man."He is someone I will never be able to replace."An active member of the region's Jewish community, Mr Sicsic was remembered by UOW lay chaplain Greg Rose as an energetic and friendly man who loved life."He lived his life to the full," he said. "There was his love of life and his dry humour, and most of all he loved people."He had ... a very generous nature."Inclement weather prevented a planned skydive which had been scheduled to land at the park for the service.
