A stage production in Wollongong of the Australian children's story Snugglepot and Cuddlepie is bringing out the child in everyone."I read the book when I was a kid and I love being able to play Ragged Blossom," actress Anna Martin said yesterday."It's been great playing dress-up and being animals all day long."Merrigong Theatre Company is bringing the characters to life in six, one-hour performances which conclude today. The cast of five experienced actors say while the schedule is exhausting, it is a great challenge."This is such a high energy show, which is partly what is so wonderful about it," James Evans said."It's a fitness program as well as a theatre show."Merrigong has been pleased with audience numbers, but the children keep the actors on their toes."They're very honest, so if they don't like you, you'll know about it," Lucy Miller said."It makes you do your best."Stage manager Sharna Galvin said the highly detailed show was a credit to producer and director Chris Canute. "Chris has done a magnificent job of adapting a story for the stage," she said.
