Murderer Des Campbell was sentenced to 33 years in jail today by the NSW Supreme Court.
Campbell, 52, was found guilty in May of pushing his new wife Janet Campbell, 49, off a cliff in the Royal National Park in March 2005 just months after their secret wedding.
VIDEO: Watch Justice Megan Latham deliver Campbell's sentenceDuring the trial, the prosecution argued Campbell was motivated by greed, killing his wife to inherit the money left to her when her first husband died.
Throughout the couple’s courtship and short marriage, Campbell juggled multiple girlfriends and lovers and denigrated Mrs Campbell in conversations with friends and family.
Mrs Campbell plunged to her death down a 50m cliff near Otford during her first camping trip on March 24, 2005.
Campbell, an experienced camper and former soldier, pitched their tent in an inhospitable location just 14m from the cliff edge.
He did not attend her funeral, and booked a holiday with one of his girlfriends the week after he found his wife dead at the bottom of a cliff.
Campbell’s sentence includes a non-parole period of 24 years. He will be eligible for release in 2034.
