Wollongong: Teen charged over alleged bus stop attack

An 18-year-old man has been charged after another man was punched and robbed at a Wollongong bus stop last month.

Police said the victim was standing at the stop on Cliff Rd about 5.45pm on January 25 when he was approached by a group of people who gathered around him.

A member of the group allegedly punched the victim, who handed over a few personal items before fleeing and asking for help from a security officer who was nearby.An 18-year-old man was arrested yesterday morning and charged with robbery in company.

He was refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court on March 21.
