Wollongong coach Gordie McLeod has urged his side to be the aggressor in tonight's grand final against Perth at Challenge Stadium.
The Hawks are long shots with bookmakers to topple the Wildcats on their home court, but those are exactly the kind of odds irrepressible Wollongong have defied all season.
If the Hawks can find a way to upstage the title favourites in the opening game of the best-of-three championship series, they would return home seeking a 2-0 sweep in Tuesday's second game.

A clinical Perth thrashed the Hawks by 34 when the teams last squared off at The Jungle in January and McLeod said the visitors will be headed for a similar fate if they allow themselves to be bullied again tonight.
"They jumped all over us last time and made us pay, so we have to make sure we're very, very aggressive at the offensive end of the floor," he said.
"Perth's style of game is that they really want to get after you and pressure you up the floor and get easy baskets off their transition game.
"They're the deepest team in the league so it makes sense to play that way.
"What we have to try and do is look at ways to disrupt them and make sure we get them into a half-court game. We have to be very aggressive in what we do, stay smart and value the ball."
Perth boast a deep and balanced front-court rotation and a trio of rugged guards who are sure to test the resolve of Hawks playmakers Luke and Rhys Martin.
McLeod said his side had no reason to fear the Cats, a team Wollongong conquered twice during the regular season.
"I think everyone feels nerves or apprehension going into a grand final, but this is something special and something all of us should cherish," he said.
"We've worked hard to get to this point and there's six other teams who would love to trade places with us, so this is a time to enjoy and a challenge to look forward to."
