Hawks fans might do a double-take when they first lay eyes on Larry Davidson tonight.
Gone is the trademark long hair and in its place is a neatly styled mohawk, shaped by a visiting childhood friend last weekend.
Team-mate Glen Saville tidied up Davidson's new look on Wednesday night.
After wearing a bandana on the court for the past two seasons, the 25-year-old might feel a bit naked tonight against the Blaze.
Asked what the inspiration was behind his new 'do, Davidson said: "None really. I just felt like a change. I got sick of the hair getting in my face all the time. It was real long two years ago and I shaved it with a zero (blade), and it's just been growing since then. My head gets a bit cold now, but it feels pretty good."
Inevitably, Saville reckons he has a future as a barber.
"Look at it. It's all good now," Saville said in approval of his handiwork on his 206cm team-mate's skull.
"It's symmetrical, it's perfectly lined up now. I'm going to use my wife's Savvy Health and Fitness business invoices and start doing haircuts."
Davidson is coming off a strong performance in last week's win over Adelaide. Playing off the bench, the former Hunter and Singapore centre tallied eight points, six rebounds, two blocks and a steal in 18 minutes.
"We finished last week's game pretty good, and Gold Coast haven't won yet so it's going to be a pretty good test because they'll come out giving us everything," he said.
"If we can keep playing the way we finished last week's game, we'll give ourselves a good chance. It's a massive game, and if we can win that we'll feel good going into Sunday (against Sydney), but no-one's even brought up Sunday's game yet."
