Perth draws first blood in NBL playoffs

17 Feb, 2010 11:00 PM
The Perth Wildcats took a 1-0 lead in the first semi-final series of the NBL playoffs with a 81-68 win over the Gold Coast Blaze tonight.

Hosting the first of a best-of-three series the Wildcats were always in control in a game in which the Gold Coast never settled.

Perth were led by guard Kevin Lisch who scored 19 points. Swingman James Harvey top-scored for the Blaze with 18 points in a side that could only make 36 per cent of their shots.

The series now moves to the Gold Coast where both teams will play game two on Tuesday night.

The second semi final between the Wollongong Hawks and Townsville Crocodiles tips off at the Wollongong Entertainment Centre at 7.30 tomorrow.
