THE Wollongong Hawks have officially signed US import Showron Glover as they move to turn around their disappointing start to the NBL season.Glover has been training with the Hawks since last week and replaced Donavan Monroe, who was sacked last month. At 175cm, 24-year-old Glover was born in California and played two years of junior college basketball in the United States, before transferring to the Saskatchewan Huskies in Canada for his final two years of university. After leading the Huskies to the 2010 national title in his senior year, the man nicknamed "Show" played professionally in Switzerland for a season. The signing comes as coach Gordie McLeod handles a number of injury concerns following last weekend’s losses to Gold Coast and Sydney.

  • Full coverage of the Hawks Larry Davidson suffered a concussion, while Rhys Martin has a broken nose and Tyson Demos a leg problem. All three are in doubt for Friday’s game against the Taipans in Cairns, which will be Glover’s first for the Hawks. The Hawks, languishing second last on the NBL standings at 1-3, play their next home game against Melbourne on Sunday.
