Lake Illawarra made it back-to-back one-day titles with a punishing eight-wicket win over Warilla Sports in yesterday's final at Howard Fowles Oval.
The Lakers dominated with ball and bat, easily chasing down Warilla's total of just 116 with 15 overs to spare.
Lakers opening bowler Ryan Smith did the early damage, taking 4-33 and sending the top four Warilla batsmen back to the sheds.
Warilla were 2-57, but then lost 5-10, with Smith instigating the collapse, backed up by Lakers all-rounders Brendan White (2-18 off nine overs) and Shane Cody (2-23 off six overs).
Warilla opener Duncan Maddinson top-scored for his team with 22 and Callum deBruyn made 17, while Ben Mitchell and skipper Gerard Healey contributed 16 runs apiece.
Despite a week of rain the Howard Fowles wicket was fine, with the Lakers batsmen having few scares in the run chase.
Skipper Tony McCabe (43) top-scored, supported by Nathan Tyrrell (24 not out) and White (27 not out).
"It was a really strong performance," McCabe said.
"We seem to be able to save our best for the big games and once again we raised our game when we needed to.
"The bowlers set things up, we took some great catches and had an excellent day in the field."
The Lakers have played in five of the past six one-day finals, winning three, losing one and being involved in one washed-out final.
Finally, with the opening day of round 15 in South Coast cricket washed out last Saturday, the second day will be played as one-dayers.
Leaders Lake Illawarra are away to The Rail, Kiama host Shellharbour, Warilla are at home to Gerringong and Oak Flats host Albion Park. Jamberoo have the bye.
