Stingray Caitlin Danyi has the chance to atone for missing last year's grand final after it was announced yesterday Balls Paddock would again host the decider.
Danyi watched Illawarra's 2009 triumph from the sidelines due to a knee injury, but is pleased the decider will return to Bulli on August 22.
The 19-year-old declared the prospect of another "home" decider a mighty carrot for the reigning champions.
"It was disappointing not to be part of it last year, it would have been great to be out there," she said.
"It's great to have it back here, we have done well at this ground.
"A grand final at Balls Paddock is a great way to top off the season."
However, Danyi acknowledged the Stingrays had plenty of work to do to reach their second decider in as many seasons, starting with the final match of the league on Sunday.
Illawarra need just a point away to also-rans Southern Branch in Nowra to clinch back-to-back premierships.
The hosts were the whipping girls of the competition earlier this term, but have improved.
"They have gone well the past few weeks, it's not going to be an easy three points.
"We know we have to work hard to get there and live up to the expectations of last year."
Football NSW competitions secretary Larry Grant labelled Balls Paddock the perfect venue for the biggest day in state women's football.
"It's a great and unique ground for atmosphere, ideal for us," he said.
"It was run so well by Bulli last year and it was a great success.
"I don't think it will be a problem if the Stingrays don't qualify, it is only an hour away from Sydney."
