12 Feb, 2012 08:19 AM
Torrential rain forced organisers to cancel the Johnny Warren Memorial Cup soccer tournament at Jamberoo.

The washout in the second in three years for the charity event which honours former Socceroo Johnny Warren and his football foundation.

Around 400 players and 40 teams gathered in Jamberoo for the tournament which was to have started last Friday night.

Event organiser Jamie Warren said it was the fifth time in 15 years the tournament has been washed out.

Johnny Warren’s 1974 World Cup teammate Ernie Campbell, along with Socceroo and football analyst Craig Foster were among those who made the trip to Jamberoo.
