Suspended defender Danial Cummins is certain Wollongong FC can do the job without him in tomorrow night's qualifying final against Sydney Olympic.
Cummins will miss the all-important WIN Stadium clash after picking up a red card and automatic one-game suspension against Sutherland in the final round of the season.
He and skipper Ben Blake have formed a formidable combination at the centre of the Wolves' defence this season, but Cummins' absence means East Timor international Alfredo Esteves will start the match.
"I'm not worried because Alfredo has been waiting for his chance," Cummins said.
"Freddy's (Alfredo) a quality player and he'll do the job against Olympic.
"It's a team game and the boys will step up."
If Wollongong score their first win over Olympic this year (the Sydney club won both games during the league campaign), they will meet Sutherland the following week for a spot in the grand final.
A loss would mean the Wolves would face the winner of the Manly United-Sydney United elimination final.
Cummins is "spewing" he'll miss the Wolves' return to WIN Stadium.
"I'm not a very good spectator," Cummins said.
"All I can do is focus on next week and I hope we'll be playing Sutherland the week after.
"These are the games I want to play in, but we'll be playing next week so I have another chance this season."
The Wolves defensive stocks have been further stretched by Michael West's season-ending ruptured spleen.
West suffered the injury in the league championship deciding game against Sutherland and is still in St George Public Hospital.
Olympic, who beat Wollongong 4-0 in round two and 2-1 in round 13, lost Sundays Tiger Turf Cup final 3-1 to Bankstown City.
They will be missing Roger Galayini and Anthony Hartshorn (suspended), Shannon Cole (signed with Sydney FC) and skipper Peter Zorbas (injured) for Friday's match.
