Wollongong FC are one win away from the NSW Premier League grand final after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Sydney Olympic at WIN Stadium last night.
The Wolves trailed 2-1 with eight minutes remaining before Matt Bailey (83rd minute) and Ilija Prenzoski (89th) scored to complete a stirring comeback.
Wollongong will face premiers Sutherland at Seymour Shaw Park next weekend for a spot in the decider, which will be played at CUA Stadium on September 7.
The Wolves will be keen to beat Sutherland after the Sharks held on for a 1-1 draw at the same venue two weeks ago to secure the league championship.
Olympic will host Manly United - who eliminated Sydney United 2-1 at Cromer Park last night - in a do-or-die clash at Belmore Sports Ground next Saturday.
A healthy and vocal crowd of 1500 came to the Wolves' temporary home and were treated to the club's first win over Olympic this year.
Justin Pasfield started in goal instead of Michael Turnbull, who took the gloves in the most recent match against Sutherland.
Pasfield wasn't required to make a save in the first half, as Wollongong's new-look centre back duo of Alfredo Esteves (deputising for the suspended Danial Cummins) and skipper Ben Blake held firm.
The second half was a different story as Olympic snatched the lead thanks to goals from Siraj Al-Tall (71st) and Matthew Mayora (75th).
However, the Wolves didn't lose heart and equalised when Bailey headed home a pin-point cross from Michael Hawrysiuk.
Wollongong ensured victory in the 89th minute when Prenzoski completed his double - and sent the crowd into raptures - with a tap-in after a probing cross from Hawrysiuk.
Earlier, Wollongong led 1-0 when Prenzoski completed a classy finish from an acute angle after a smart through-ball from playmaker Balla Conde in the 13th minute.
Prenzoski's clinical finish would prove priceless, as the Wolves took a 1-0 lead to halftime after a first period lacking clear-cut chances.
The game opened up in the second half and Olympic should have equalised in the 54th minute when Mayora blasted a shot from 15m over the bar.
Wollongong could have made it 2-0 four minutes later, but Alfredo stabbed the ball over the bar after a neat cross from Prenzoski.
Olympic had another good chance on the hour, but a Chris Triantis rocket from outside the area flashed past the right post.
The Sydneysiders' obvious advantage in size and stature finally told in the 71st minute, when lanky striker Siraj Al-Tall headed home a free kick from Mayora for 1-1.
Olympic looked set to break Wollongong's ten-game unbeaten streak when Mayora scored.
