The 39-year-old Stolz has returned from a wrist injury this year, which had him considering giving golf away, and won the Victorian PGA in February before heading to the United States to play Nationwide events.

At the height of his powers, Stolz won the 2004 Michelin Championship in Las Vegas after taking out the Australian Tour Championship in 2000.

Australian PGA chief executive Max Garske believes the field could get even stronger for the NSW PGA, starting on November 19, given its position on the Tour schedule.

It follows the Australian Masters and is being played on a links course similar to NSW where the Australian Open will be held in December.

"The move to Wollongong and the scheduling that sees the tournament follow on from the Australian Masters has already proved beneficial for the 2009 NSW PGA Championship," Australian PGA chief executive Max Garske said.

"An exciting mix of players will head to the South Coast in November with the likes of Peter Senior, Terry Price and Michael Long already entered in the field. Former US Tour winner and last year's Victorian PGA champion Andre Stolz has also entered, as has defending champion Tim Wood."

Senior is yet to confirm his spot with the US Senior Tour qualifying coinciding with the Wollongong tournament.

Meantime, discussions are continuing about a bonus linking the NSW PGA with the NSW Open and Australian Open. Winning all three may earn $50,000 extra prize money.
