Darci Be Good's first-up assignment is likely to include a clash with Golden Rose winner Manawanui after Bede Murray confirmed the Group 2 Royal Sovereign Stakes (1200m) as an autumn kick-starter.
Buoyed by the manner in which he's come back into work since a breakthrough spring campaign, Murray has fixed the Warwick Farm race on February 18 for Darci Be Good's first competitive hit-out of 2012.
The $175,000 feature is also tipped to feature Manawanui, trained by Murray's good mate Ron Leemon.
Murray said the Hobartville Stakes, Randwick Guineas and Rosehill Guineas would come under consideration after that before the main goal of the Australian Derby at Randwick on April 14.
Manawanui is also tracking towards the Hobartville Stakes.
"A lot could happen after his first couple of runs," Murray said. "[But] he's done a treat.
"I'm very, very happy with the decision we've made and the way he's come back. Since he's been out he's matured mentally and I think he's on the right track."
The Spring Stakes winner is owned by a syndicate from the Illawarra Turf Club and has already amassed more than $300,000 in prize money from just seven career starts.
