Predatory Pricer draws barrier 16 in Caulfield Cup

14 Oct, 2009 01:31 PM
Kembla Grange trainer Paul Murray remains confident Predatory Pricer will win the Saturday's Caulfield Cup despite drawing barrier 16 today.

The four-year-old is no longer favourite after blowing out from $7 to $8.50 with TAB Sportsbet after the wide draw.

Godolphin's Kirkless took over at the top of market at $8 when he came up with barrier seven.

"There is speed inside and outside him, so Kingy (jockey Steven King) should be able to slip across and get in somewhere," Murray said.

"I really don't think barriers are that important and I still think whatever beats him will be winning."

Vigor, which was equal favourite with Predatory Pricer before the barrier draw, fared worse than the Kembla-trained galloper drawing the outside in gate 22 and is now a $10.

International raider Cima De Triomphe (barrier 11) is also an $8.50 hope with AJC Oaks winner Daffodil $9 after she drew perfectly in four.
