They rate themselves the most unfashionable side remaining in the South Pacific pairs, but Albion Park's Roger Duggan and Jim Green have a knack for knocking off high-profile opposition.
Duggan and Green meet James Webster and Brett Pieper in the semi-finals today at Towradgi after eliminating powerhouse Warilla combination John Ritchie and Eric Johannes earlier in the tournament.
On the the other side of the draw, John Green and Matt Sargeant will lock horns with Mal Lyons and Paul Luke.
While three-time champions Green and Sargeant are the overwhelming favourites, the Albion Park pair became one of the few to have claimed their scalps when they won last year's Gus Bianchetto Pairs final at Dapto.
"We know we're not as good as Matty Sargeant or Johnny Green but sometimes you get the results," Jim Green said.
"I know they're better than me but we'll hang in and hope for the best.
"The final in which we beat them was a one-off - they might have had a bad day and we had a good one."
Duggan admitted the duo - who failed to get out of their section last year - hit form at the right time.
"We've had a really good run. We've been consistent and started to knock off a few of the better sides," Duggan said.
"We're reading each other very well at the moment and that's getting us the results."
Green and Duggan reached the final four after defeating Dapto Citizens entrants Kevin Cooper and John Cahill yesterday.
Lyons and Luke flew the flag for the host club, eliminating 11-year-old Bomaderry prodigy Dylan Skinner and Danny Osborn 17-8.
Green and Sargeant thumped Sydney duo Ben Swain and Simon Haeusler 24-2, while Webster and Pieper were just as convincing in a 21-5 romp over Mark Larsen and Dennis Skinner.
