Dapto Reunited coach Jackie Johnson is two victories away from fulfilling a dream after the team secured the Illawarra Premier League minor premiership.Johnson has helped guide the netball careers of the talented Dapto players since their junior days. The group came back together this season and have taken the league (IPL) by storm, crushing Land Team 60-33 in the final round fixture to decide top spot at Berkeley's Fred Finch Park.Dapto now face a rematch with Land Team in Saturday's major semi-final, and another win would put them straight into the premiership decider."It is a bit of a dream. I've known the girls since they were little," Johnson said."They're a great bunch and a lot of them hadn't really seen each other in years until the team came back together, so it's been great to play as a team."Dapto are in the unusual position of not training as a group during the week, because of the players' state league commitments during the season.Goal shooter Michelle Regan, wing attack and centre Emma Johnson, goal attack Leah Shoard, and goal defence Elise Edney were all involved in the Illawarra's state league division one team this year.Defenders Delise Sanchez and Skye Hassett, and centre and wing attack Jane Randall played in the division three campaign, while Kimberley Bell was involved in division two for Sydney's northern districts and Renee Hahn in Sutherland's division three. The players have combined to lead the charge towards an IPL title."We'll train on Saturday before the game - there's a couple of things we need to work on," Johnson said."But Saturday (against Land Team) was the first time for a while that we've really switched on throughout the game."It was a pleasing sign going into the finals."In the minor semi, injury hit Corrimal Cadets will be desperate to keep their season alive against Wests Titans. The Titans ensured their place in the top four after a 55-22 victory over Shoalhaven on Saturday.Meanwhile, the Cadets struggled to a 58-48 win over clubmates Corrimal BaiMed.
