Discarded St George Illawarra halfback Mathew Head's future is again in limbo, as the Dragons consider whether to extend the 27-year-old's contract.
Head, who started his NRL career with the Dragons in 2003, re-signed with the club on a one-year deal this season after stints in the English Super League and with Wests Tigers.
The Dapto junior has played 10 games this season as a utility, but has struggled to hold his position while languishing behind in-form St George Illawarra captain Ben Hornby.

Dragons semis: Wollongong has grounds for stoush Head has declared he would like to remain at the club next year, however the Dragons have already retained veteran hooker Luke Priddis, as well as recruiting New Zealand international Nathan Fien.
St George Illawarra chief executive Peter Doust said the door was still open for Head.
"At this stage negotiations are continuing," Doust said.
"We're having discussions as our recruitment and football departments look to finalise the playing list for next season."
Head's manager David Riolo was unavailable for comment yesterday.
The star playmaker of the Dragons ill-fated 2005 season suffered a major knee injury mid-season and was eventually cut by the club after playing just six games in 2007.
He then signed with Hull in the Super League before returning to the NRL with Wests Tigers last year.
Meanwhile, centre Chase Stanley, who scored a try against Manly on Sunday in his second game this season, is still caught in a contract wrangle with the Dragons.
Stanley is signed to the club until the end of next season, however he is interested in gaining an early release to join Melbourne.
The 20-year-old former Kiwi international was dropped after round one and while initially indicating he wanted to stay at the club long-term, he now appears destined to join the Storm.
Doust said at this stage he expected Stanley to be part of the Dragons squad next season, however Stanley's manager Lance Thompson said the situation was far from resolved.
"We still haven't sorted it out with St George yet. Hopefully we'll have it sorted out soon," Thompson said.
