A video of the St George Illawarra mascot learning the finer points of the game from the red and white stars has been posted on YouTube in the lead-up to the business end of the rugby league season.

Set to the Rocky theme Eye of the Tiger, the video shows Happy limbering up in the sheds, beating his chest, and learning how to tackle, kick and catch a high ball.

"With finals approaching, we need happy at his peak," it says.

It remains to be seen whether supercoach Wayne Bennett will call on his newest recruit in the finals series.
