Former Illawarra prop Harry Hawksworth is a shock inclusion for Tech Waratahs in this afternoon's Illawarra Rugby Union major semi-final against Avondale at Ocean Park.
Hawksworth hasn't played since rupturing his biceps in a round two win over Engadine.
He initially feared the injury would force him to retire or at the very least put him out of action for the rest of 2009.
But the veteran enforcer has made a remarkable recovery and been named on the Tahs bench.
"Harry was cleared last week," Tech Waratahs coach Paul Darby said.
"He'll be on the bench and at this stage we're not sure if and when he'll be used.
"The good thing is that he's available and we'll play it by ear on the day."
Little separated the sides during the season, with Tech Waratahs prevailing 32-28 on May 2 before the Wombats squared the ledger with a 26-23 win on July 11 at Saunders Oval.
"We're not going to do anything different," Darby said. "Obviously our scrum has to be good. Our tight-head prop Luke Debono relishes this sort of stuff against a big pack like Avondale's.
"He's a tough young guy and he's really looking forward to the challenge. We have to be smart about what we do and use our skills around the paddock."
An injury cloud hangs over hooker Daniel Read, but the Tahs are otherwise at full strength.
Avondale are also set to field their best side, with Chris Jack returning from injury.
Wombats coach Henare Leach said the real Avondale finally stood up in last week's win over Shoalhaven.
"The boys turned it on. They performed to their potential and showed how we should've been performing all year," he said.
"Avondale have always had the powerful forward pack, but we've got some very skilful guys in the backs and we showed that last week.
"We've become a real complete side from one to 15 and this week we've welcomed back Chris Jack. We've given ourselves a chance to make the grand final and if we play to our potential we know we can beat any team.
"Avondale and Tech are two similar teams. We're a bit more physical and they're a bit more mobile, but it's pretty close between us. We've had a couple of close games with them and ... I expect this to be close again."
