Russian forklift driver destroys $189,000 worth of alcohol

This CCTV footage brings new meaning to the term drink-driving.

A forklift driver in Russia accidentally destroyed $189,000 worth of alcohol after driving into a stock shelf containing boxes of cognac and vodka.

The driver appears to accidentally step on the accelerator, sending his vehicle into the bottom of a stack of shelves.

The collision caused the shelf to tumble over and created a domino effect, resulting in thousands of bottles smashing onto the ground.

Amazingly one driver was unharmed, while a second driver suffered a minor foot injury.

The crash was captured on CCTV, and an anonymous worker posted it online.

It has since become an online hit, with one YouTube video alone attracting more than half a million hits in four days.
