One week ago Susan Boyle was an unknown and unemployed Scot living alone with her cat Pebbles.
Now she counts Hollywood superstar Demi Moore as one of her biggest fans.
The actress revealed on Twitter, the micro-blogging site, that Ms Boyle had moved her to tears with her stunning performance on the reality television quest Britain's Got Talent.
Ms Boyle, a 48-year-old charity worker, drew sniggers from the crowd when she walked on stage at the auditions looking, as she put it, "like a garage".

But her goosebump-raising performance of I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables silenced her critics, and earned her a standing ovation from the dumbfounded audience.
Ms Boyle's has become an internet hit overnight, and her online star continues to rise.
More than nine million people have now logged on to YouTube to watch her audition online, a figure which continues to rocket up by the hour.
Hollywood glamour couple Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore are among those who have watched the performance on YouTube.
Kutcher sent a link to the YouTube clip to Moore on Twitter, with the message: "This just made my night."
Moore replied: "You saw it made me teary!"
After Ms Boyle's audition performance, she is now tipped to beat 75,000 other applicants to the Britain's Got Talent crown.
