10:38 AM | Port Pirie won two State Championships from the two teams it sent to the recent Senior State Championships in Adelaide. The B grade men’s side played its minor round games against both A and B grade teams – winning all of its B grade games – against NAMSA, Hills and Sunraysia. Port Pirie then played NAMSA again in the grand final – defeating it 6-1 to take the B grade title.
Tennis season almost finished
10:35 AM | The 2011/12 tennis season is coming to an end and there is little time left for teams to secure a spot in the finals. Tomorrow night’s matches feature some very important games, in particular the B grade match between Wandearah and Trinity to be played at the Wandearah courts.
10:32 AM | There are now only four minor rounds left to go in Port Pirie Night Baseball after last Friday night’s games. Teams need to now take control of their own destiny and either improve their position or consolidate their position on the premiership table.

The medical students from the University of Adelaide were welcomed at a Mayoral Reception last Wednesday. Rural Health operations manager Deidre Patterson said 25 percent of medical students come to the country.
