Police will allege the 41-year-old man sexually assaulted an 82-year-old woman at a Unanderra nursing home on October 31 this year.
The woman is a resident in the "high care" ward, is disabled and suffers from a number of medical conditions.
At the time of the alleged offence the man was employed as a carer at the home.
Lake Illawarra police yesterday arrested the 41-year-old, charging him with two counts of aggravated sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault.
He was refused bail and will appear before Wollongong Local Court today.
