Austin (Bici Sport), 42, who moved to the Illawarra from Sydney's northern beaches this year, was the winner and daylight was second as he powered away to a tremendous victory.
Stuart Campbell (Happy Wheels) finished second and Matt Fleming (Sutherland) was third.
Former Illawarra rider now in Canberra, John Forrest (Vikings CC) won the first race in the series at Cronulla on Saturday.
Forrest finished third in the overall series behind Graham Albon (Brennan IT) who won by a point from Austin.
Showing superb control in the wind yesterday, Austin led by 24 seconds with three laps to go and actually increased it the closer he powered to the finish line on the tight and testing 660 metre course.
"I wanted to get into a good rhythm and just keep ticking it over," Austin said.
"And I was lucky enough to get into a rhythm and was riding fairly even.
"The guys in the chase group I think they weren't really working together with each other, they were sort of trying to fight each other.
"The gap eventually increased and [I] started to catch a few lapped riders.
"That was sort of like a carrot to dangle in front of me."
Being out on his own was nothing new to Austin.
"I train by myself and that's basically my style of riding, really," he said.
"I'm training towards a world hour record for Masters 3, which is the 45 age group, in February."
If his winning ride in Wollongong yesterday is any indication, Austin will have every chance of setting that new record.
