Mum Trina was too busy at the time to notice the significance, just thankful she didn't deliver another 12 - as in pounds - after three hours of labour.
Instead, Mrs Richardson welcomed to the world her 10-pound (4.53-kilogram) bub, measuring 50.5 centimetres.
Her midwife Avron Dudgeon, who was full of praise for the proud mum, was the one watching the clock as midday approached.
Gemma is a sister for two-year-old Cameron, who was born on Valentine's Day.
"I think he'll be really excited to meet her," Mrs Richardson, from Lake Illawarra, said.
"He'll be coming in soon."
While Gemma took centre stage, oblivious to the flashing camera yesterday, mum spared a thought for exhausted dad Mitchell, who came straight from night shift in time for the action.
"He still hasn't had any sleep yet," Mrs Richardson said.
