A section between the archery range and the hairpin turn has been closed since November 7 and had been due to reopen later this month.
The work on that part of the road has been completed, however, Wollongong City Council geotechnical staff have discovered a second area further up Mount Keira Road.
The latest subsidence has forced the closure of Mount Keira Road from the archery range to the scout camp until further notice.
The section from the scout camp to Queen Elizabeth Drive will be partially closed to allow access for residents and businesses in that area.
Access to the Mount Keira Scout Camp, telecommunication tower and Mount Keira Summit Lookout will be via Clive Bissell Drive and/or Picton Road.
