Sydneysider Richard Khoe was with his wife, Katrina Lee, who enjoyed her first hang-glide that day.
But it was the sea eagle who captured the attention of the crowd of onlookers.
"The eagle was following a group of hang-gliders for about 10 minutes, and then it swooped down and landed on one of them, and then another," Mr Khoe said.
"There was about 100 of us looking on, it was amazing to see. My wife's instructor from Sydney Hang Gliding Centre said he'd seen sea eagles around before, but never actually landing on anyone."
Mr Khoe says he is not much of a photographer, so this image will be one to cherish.
