The temperature in Wollongong reached a pleasant 23 degrees yesterday with a forecast top of 26 today and 29 at Albion Park.
Similar temperatures are expected over the weekend.
Temperatures above 40 degrees are forecast across large parts of Australia today, including Melbourne and Adelaide and inland parts of NSW.
